Here’s my View from the Kiosk for Saturday the 13th of April

April showers bring May flowers….. the park is looking spectacular. Trees blooming, bulbs blooming, birds singing and throngs of teens and pre-teens on teen tours visiting for Spring Break. During my three hours in the park, I counted 12 groups of at least 30 kids passing by the kiosk. The weather was so beautiful, even they couldn’t ruin my mood. I was very social and gave everyone a big “Good Morning!” Or “Hello!!”. I love to do this because it causes such discomfort to some of the European visitors, mainly the French and Germans. Nothing like a big toothy grin and a warm “Good Morning” to welcome them to my park! The Brits seem to like it as do the Italians and the Spanish. I gave out 135 maps and helped about 450 people today.

#1 Best Question? “My son is smoking marijuana in the park and told me to come meet him at the golf course. How do I get to the golf course?”
-“Im sorry ma’am, there is no golf course in Central Park”
#2 Best Question? “Can you help me find my kids? They are at some ‘Quoted’ place?”
-“I cannot help you find your children, but I can tell you how to get to the two Le Pain Quotiden in the park. Would that be okay?”
#3 Best Question? “Where is the Imagine Place?”
#1 Funny Sight? This group of bros taking a photo of a NYC pretzel

#1 Best Interaction? The maintenance guy drove by on his cart and said, “Hello”. I called out how crowded the park was with kids on spring break, and he said, “YES, a lot of garbage to clean up today!” Why was this the best? Because the kids were annoying me, but my annoyance was a first world annoyance when you consider I didn’t have to clean their trash. Be thankful.
Visitors? Nobody.
Most Popular Language? Today was Spanish! It was great, I got to practice all morning.
