Here’s my View from the Kiosk for Saturday the 23ed of February
Super cold in the kiosk today. First time I had to break out the hand warmers to stay warm. No sun, but some fun interactions with the tourists.
#1 Best Question? “Where is Strawberry Fields?” Okay, this isn’t an unusual question, in fact, it is the most common. So, why does this win this week’s best question award? Here’s why. I told them, I pointed using hand, not finger and made it clear to them that they only had to walk one minute to get to this infamous attraction. So, why is it the best? They said “Thank you” and then walked away in the opposite direction………..
#1 Tough Question? “Where were the scenes from Gillmore Girls filmed?”
— “Huh?”
Best Overheard? Not really overheard, but there were a lot of zombies walking past the kiosk today. Most zombies are young girls around 30 who have their heads down in Instagram while walking across the park. It’s a shame they can’t appreciate where they are at the moment.
2nd Best? This group of French visitors. They were on bikes. They all biked to right in front of the kiosk, so I asked them if they needed help. Well, I’m not sure I have ever received such looks of disgust or dislike from any visitors. One just shook his finger at me and said, “What do you want? No English!” So I just smiled and said. “Bienvenue”. They rode off looking like they had just smelled a fart.
#1 Best Interaction? I spoke to a super cute couple from Norway. My first Norwegians in the kiosk.
Visitors? Nobody was brave enough to come out in the cold - AGAIN
Most Popular Language? Mainly people speaking French in the park today - again and again
