Here’s my View from the Kiosk for Saturday the 26th of January
Alright. I am not in Mexico anymore. It was super cold for this shift. Thank goodness I was able to wear my battery powered heated gloves that my lovely sister gave me. Today was Winter Jam. This is a very well attended event each year. They make fake snow and set up skiing lessons and ice sculpting contests on the mall. It attracts a lot of kids and many confused parents. As you can see in the photo, it is pretty clear where this event is taking place, yet I was approached by several parents asking where they needed to go. I simply pointed to the left and said, see the 1000 people and the 1000 porta potties? Go there. I guess I gave out more attitude than maps during this shift. Not a lot to report on today. When it is cold, the view gets a tad boring.

#1 Best Question? “Where is John Lennon’s steel in the ground?”
#1 Worst Interaction?Several younger women carrying yoga mats passed me today. Each gave the same dismissive look as they passed by, keeping their heads buried in their insta feeds and presenting a miserable façade to the beauty and nature of the park around them.
#1 Best Interaction? A lady stopped by and said, “you look so nice and toasty in there. So great you have a heater.” I laughed and told her that my battery powered gloves were keeping me warm and that we have no power in the kiosk. She said, “Thank you for volunteering!!!”
Visitors? I had a great visit from Marianne, my summertime kayak buddy who was touring the park with the Sundance group doing a little bird watching.
#1 most asked question other than “where is Strawberry Fields?’ “Where is the skating?”
Most Popular Language? All Portuguese today
