Here's my view from the Kiosk for Saturday the 21st
Finally a beautiful day. Unfortunately for me, the east side kiosk is the first really attractive place to pee...... when you are a dog. The East side residents don’t seem to care that their dogs are treating my kiosk as a urinal. When I am inside, I know what the Tidy Bowl man must have thought. I am going to investigate buying some dog repellant and spraying it around the kiosk at the beginning of my shift. That or quit this job. Many French in the park today. The French are like Americans abroad. They walk up to the kiosk and just start talking to me in French. This is unlike the Spanish or Germans who always ask first, in English, if I speak their language. I spoke to 154 people and gave out 50 maps
#1 best question which would only be asked by
someone who lives on the East Side:
“Can you give me a doggy poop bag?”
“No, I don’t have them and please don’t let your dog pee on my house”
#2 best question: “We are looking for a place to get a drink”
weird interaction: When I was a kid, I had an Uncle Mac. Mac was like an old vaudeville schtick comedian and I loved him deeply. Today, there was this old guy with a young kid. The old guy reminding me of Mac.
“May I have a map for the young man?”
“Here you go”
“Thank you, we are going to study it, anon
-and then he flips his hand in the air like an impresario.
funny question: “Where are the arches?”
I told her that the bridges and arches are throughout the park
annoying question: “Where do we buy food to give to the animals?
“Please don’t feed the animals in the park”
top nature lovers? The many people who walked past the kiosk pointing at the apple trees and yelling---”look! Cherry blossoms.
The many people who walked past the kiosk pointing at the magnolia trees and yelling--”look! Cherry blossoms”
