Here's my view from the Kiosk for Saturday, June 2nd
Once again, extremely hot and humid. Really gross to be in my dog urinal. Speaking of which, I usually blame the boy dogs. This day, a girl dog pee’ed on me, and her owner? Well, her comment was, “Good Girl!”
Anyway, 3 hours, 160 people and 120 maps later, here’s my view.
#1 best question
“Meadow???”
From this, I inferred she wanted Sheep Meadow, but the way she asked was a combination of post lobotomy expert millennial up-talker.
best interaction
Before my shift, I stopped at the Pan Quotidian at Conservatory Water. The lady working there looked at my badge and said, “Honey, you look so much younger and better than the man in that picture!”
funny interaction
Man says, “Give HIM a map. He from California. He a tourist! I’m from New York, I already seen it all”
most popular language
French. I love when the park is full of the French. They are the ones who make no effort to speak to me in English. They walk right up to the kiosk and start to speak to me in French. My reaction? I say “Bienvenue, I don’t speak French”
It is also funny how many foreigners come up to me at 3pm and start by saying, “Good Morning!”
most asked question other than “Where is the Boat House?”
Where is Summer Fest?
